Hello I'm Katherine the designer maker at Designer Silk Artist. 

My silk artist's studio is based in North Staffordshire and it is in this area, arts and travel that my inspiration is found. Living in the countryside in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands at the start of The Peak District my work is influenced by the moods and character of the changing seasons, and landscape. The diverse character of the area from the colourful cottage gardens and pretty villages to the dramatic stark and bleak moors are all great inspiration for the artist’s soul.

My work is available to purchase online in my shop and I am happy to discuss commissions for hand painted silk items.  

Working as a silk painter takes me all over the country to art, craft and designs shows where I exhibit and sell my work. You can find a list of events on my events page, and if you visit one of the shows do come and say 'Hello!'.

It is still a joy to me that I’ve been working as a professional silk painter for over 30 years. I still love to let my creativity wander and create new designs and colours.
