The Music Keyboard reversible jacket from Designer Silk is a unique work of wearable art.
The jacket has a hand painted silk design on one side and a plain silk reverse side making it effectively 2 jackets in one. It can be worn with the Music Keyboard outermost or the plain Dupion or raw silk fabric outwards with the hand painted design showing on the front facings and at the cuffs when they are turned back. This makes the Music Keyboard Jacket a versatile as well as decorative addition to your wardrobe.
The design has been created by silk artist Katherine Edge in Serti technique of silk painting using a gutta outline. The design was hand drawn onto white heavy weight Habotai silk using black gutta. It was then hand painted using specialist silk paints and when dry fixed with heat. The silk was then cut to size and made up into the jacket, an exact copy was made in black Dupion silk and the two sewn together to form a reversible jacket.
The jacket is a complete one off. Other Music themed jackets may be made by Designer Silk but they will be different in colour and/or design to this one making it a unique piece.
The jacket is free size and as a swing jacket is not a 'fitted' garment. The exact sizes are as follows
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam 17.5 inches
Underarm seam to underarm seam across the back 29 inches
Armhole depth 11 inches
Nape of neck to hem 29.5 inches
Sleeves from top of shoulder to hem 21 inches
As a general guide this will fit a size 12 to 16 comfortably and possible a size smaller or larger depending on proportions. Please check the measurements against your existing wardrobe.
