The Peak District unique hand crocheted throw has been created using a mix of wool/acrylic yarns by designer maker Katherine Edge.
It is a one off piece inspired by many happy days spent walking with her father in, and around, Derbyshire and surrounding area. The colours chosen reflect the beauty of the natural surroundings the subtle shades of the scenery as seen from the Kinder Plateau and Mam Tor. The views of the barely tamed wild land, farms framed by green fields edged in dry stone walls and the pretty villages home to colourful campsites and holiday cottages, local pubs frequented by avid hill walkers relishing the fresh air and hospitality of the area.
Katherine began designing her crochet throws to adorn her cottage. They proved very popular as gifts and with family and guests who enjoyed barbecues in the garden overlooking the moors particularly as sunny afternoons extended into cooler evenings the throws were welcomed to keep out the night chills. She now creates a limited number of items that she is offering for sale alongside her silk creations.
