The Snowdonia unique hand crocheted throw has been created using a mix of wool/acrylic yarns by designer maker Katherine Edge.
It is a one off piece inspired by memories of family hillwalking holidays with her family in North Wales. The colours chosen reflect the beauty and natural surroundings the subtle shades of the rock outcrops and ridges, abandoned mines & quarries, dry stone walls and the tarns nestling in the shelter of Mount Snowdon. Family holidays were based in pretty cottages that were originally built overnight to claim the land with their quirky structure in the stunning scenery of the Welsh countryside that was explored each day. On returning to the cottage the evenings were spent wrapped in crochet throws, in front of a cosy fire sharing stories of the day
Katherine began designing her crochet throws to adorn her cottage. They proved very popular as gifts and with family and guests who enjoyed barbecues in the garden overlooking the moors particularly as sunny afternoons extended into cooler evenings the throws were welcomed to keep out the night chills. She now creates a limited number of items that she is offering for sale alongside her silk creations.
